Menlo School’s Middle School (grades 6-8) is seeking an enthusiastic and experienced educator to teach 7th grade science full time. This position would teach four sections with approximately 18 students per class. Candidates should be comfortable incorporating technology into the classroom. Menlo School full-time faculty members also oversee a student advocacy group of 10 to 12 students. Faculty also participate actively in the lives of the students by overseeing a club, chaperoning, covering lunch-time duty or other activities.
Develop and execute classroom lessons in physical, chemical, and life science.
Use a wide variety of creative teaching methods and demonstrations that actively engage students.
Differentiate classroom materials and presentations for a range of learning abilities.
Promote thoughtful discussions and discourse in the classroom.
Participate in the curricular development of the science department and work collaboratively with colleagues on teaching techniques and classroom initiatives.
Be able to provide leadership in various activities such as Robotics, Tech Challenge and Maker Fair programs.
Minimum of three to five years prior science teaching experience at the middle school level.
