Colleges, Housing and Educational Services (CHES) is a multi-funded organization within the Business and Administrative Services (BAS) division at the University of California (UC) Santa Cruz. CHES provides leadership in the areas of college student life and residential services, housing services, facilities, employee housing and capital planning, dining services, conference services, early education services, the Bay Tree Bookstore, ID card services, and business and financial analysis for these areas. Through these units, educational and developmental programs and services are offered to all members of the campus community including students, faculty, staff, children and external constituents.

JOB SUMMARY Under the general supervision of the Senior Budget Analyst for Dining Services, the Financial Assistant will provide financial and administrative support in the areas of financial research and reporting, billing research and reconciliation, and file maintenance. Responsible for processing of all invoices, purchase orders, credit memos, and chargebacks. Maintains all related files, reports and required computer documentation. Serves as back-up support for the Dining Administrative Office staff, performing various duties as assigned.
- Accounting clerk experience or bookkeeping experience. Accounts payable/receivable experience. - Experience with bank and/or journal ledger reconciliation. - Demonstrated experience identifying accounting related problems and performing detailed reconciliation with an attention to detail. - Knowledge and/or ability to prepare monthly income and/or expense statements/reports. - Excellent organizational skills with the ability to prioritize a heavy workload with the pressure of frequent interruptions and manage multiple activities to meet unit, organization, and campus deadlines.
