Qualifications: Applicants must be willing to contribute actively to the mission of the College as well as show respect for the Catholic and Assumptionist identity of Assumption College. An earned doctorate degree preferred (Masters or A.B.D. considered) with prior teaching experience in public health education. The successful candidate will be able to teach several courses from among the following: Introduction to Public Health, Evidence-based Health Care, Principles of Health Education and Promotion, Global Health, Systems Approach to Health Care in America, Epidemiology, and/or Legal and Ethical Aspects of Health Care. Teaching a 4/3 course load and advising students within a Health Sciences undergraduate program will be required. Additional responsibilities may include serving to promote the Health Sciences program from within and outside the college. The successful candidate will join an energetic and collegial department that is passionate about social justice and is growing a new Health Sciences major with a strong Public Health component.
- MPH degree or similar health care industry related degree
- Higher education teaching experience
- Earned doctorate degree (or A.B.D)
- Experience teaching in public health, health policy, and/or health care systems at the university/college level
- Experience working in health systems preferred
- Membership and active participation in public health and community health education professional organizations
