Reporting to the Dean of the College of Medicine - Jacksonville, the chair is responsible for the overall administrative, academic, and clinical outcomes of the department. UF seeks an accomplished academician and clinician with an M.D. or D.O. from an accredited school, current ABU board certification, and have a national reputation for clinical, educational and scholarly activities appropriate for appointment to the rank of Professor or Associate Professor in either a clinical or tenure-track position. Candidates must possess significant leadership experience, such as a section or division chief, vice chair or similar role, with demonstrated fiscal and managerial responsibility. It is important for the new Chair to possess a vision to ensure that the Department grows in rank and reputation. The ideal candidate will be able to grow the department’s clinical program in concert with the expansion of UF Health Jacksonville. The candidate should have national recognition and be actively involved in professional societies and physician organizations.
