Duties and Responsibilities:
The Women's, Gender & Sexuality Studies Program at the University of Houston invites applications for a Visiting Scholar to begin in the Fall Semester 2017. Applicants may be working in any discipline, on a topic concerning women, gender, and/or sexuality. We especially encourage applications from candidates with a Ph.D. in gender studies whose research utilizes intersectional and transnational frameworks and those who engage with disability studies and queer studies. The recipient will teach one course per term (Intro to Women's Studies and then a course of their design), assist with programming, and devote the rest of the time to research. The initial appointment will be for one year, with the possibility of renewal for a second. Salary will be $48,000 with full benefits.
The applicant must hold a Ph.D. degree at the time of the appointment. The Visiting Scholar will join a small, vibrant, and growing program with a new major.
