UW Medicine currently has multiple websites with thousands of pages. The Information Architect will address the structure and strategy of our online information, bringing clarity to our audience. The ideal candidate will have proven experience of taking complex structures and taxonomies and simplifying them into usable and meaningful experiences.
UW Medicine's Strategic Marketing and Communications team has an outstanding opportunity for a full-time, temporary Information Architect.
Improve the usability and structure of a large, complex legacy website by leading a project to establish enterprise guidelines
Provide content and website structure audits in combination with strategic plans for how to improve and maintain best practice
Bridge the understanding gap between users and business strategy, as well as the relationship between people and products
Create best practice guidelines for other content contributors to follow, and internally evangelize the benefits of IA
Analyze website data and user feedback to inform strategic decisions and identify opportunities for impactful optimizations
Organize and run group working sessions such as: card sorting, journey mapping and user interviews
Create guidelines that cater and consider for our multiples audiences and accommodate scalability for future growth
Work collaboratively with the UX team to ensure our content is findable, well organized and meaningful to our audience
Bachelor's degree and 3-5 years' experience of information architecture and content strategy, whether through work or education.
Proven experience of working with large information architecture projects, with demonstrable outcomes
Experience working with a variety of CMSs such as, SiteCore, Drupal, Sharepoint and Wordpress
Ability to work both independently and collaboratively across teams and departments, with minimal supervision
Excellent verbal and written communication skills
Experience developing solutions for large enterprise web sites or applications, especially consumer-facing
A/B testing experience
Experience working with products including Google Analytics, Siteimprove and MOZ
