The Middle School Assistant Director role focuses primarily on grades 6, 7 and 8 (300+ students) and incorporates all aspects of administrative leadership including teacher support and evaluation, curriculum development, student discipline, parent communications, and special projects. We seek a leader with expertise in middle school curriculum and instruction, as well as an appreciation for and understanding of the social and emotional development of children in grades 4-8. Candidates should be committed to and knowledgeable about progressive education, differentiated instruction, and innovative pedagogy. We seek candidates with the following:
Ability to interact effectively and positively with students, parents, faculty, and staff
Dedication to fostering a diverse and inclusive learning and work environment
Deep knowledge of current educational research, theory and best practices
Exceptional organizational and communication skills
Interest and experience in developing transdisciplinary/design thinking and social-emotional learning-related programs and curriculum
Flexibility, optimism, and a sense of humor
