St. Louis College of Pharmacy is currently seeking a Public Safety Officer for the Residence Hall. This position will serve as the in-house resource for all safety related topics and will be based primarily in the Residence Hall. The Public Safety Officer interacts with all employees, students, local law enforcement agencies, fire departments, and appropriate agencies on matters related to safety and security. The position has frequent contact with residents and residence hall assistants. This position is 3rd shift and may also require working holidays/weekends, and could require extra hours as needed.
You’ll have the opportunity to:
Perform lockout services for resident students whenever Residence Life is closed.
Respond and assist Public Safety Officers to all disturbances, emergencies, and suspicious circumstances in the residence halls.
Support the Resident Assistants and the Residence Director in the residence halls.
Knowledge of dispatch systems, radio communications, fire systems, CCTV, and emergency procedures.
Ability to transport campus community and other passengers on and off campus.
Monitors access into the Residence Halls and check guests/visitors in and out.
Education & Experience:
High School diploma/GED
Two to three years’ experience in customer service
One year in the security industry
Ability to pass Background Check (Motor Vehicle Record)
Ability to obtain and maintain a St. Louis Metro Security License
Working knowledge of Microsoft Word and Excel programs
Basic working knowledge of CCTV systems and other security software and platforms
Excellent customer service and relations skills required.
Be able to communicate effectively via email, phone, and in person
Ability to communicate effectively with many different types of individuals
