As a Projects Radiotherapy Physicist, you will:
Work independently to provide MSK campus-wide radiation physics support for development and implementation of new methods for planning and delivery of radiotherapy treatments including: design and performance of experiments to investigate planning, imaging and delivery of new or complex radiotherapy treatments, development of associated operational procedures for clinical implementation and development and delivery of associated campus-wide training.
Provide radiation physics support related to dosimetry and quality assurance measurements on radiotherapy equipment including linear accelerators and CT simulators for patient specific QA, daily, monthly and annual QA.
Provide radiation physics support for routine patient-specific QA procedures including initial and ongoing chart checks. Perform other QA activities as directed.
Train other staff on new techniques and procedures. Instruct other staff on appropriate principles of radiotherapy simulation, treatment planning and delivery according to departmental policies and procedures.
Make a continuous effort to improve job performance and to develop work-related skills and expertise.
A Master’s degree in Medical Physics, Physics, or related Physical science, or equivalent.
Minimum 2 years experience as a radiotherapy physicist
NY State license and successful completion of ABR exam parts 1 and 2 required. Candidate must successfully complete ABR certification (part 3 exam) within three years of becoming eligible.
