UW Housing & Food Services is looking for an experienced, growth-minded Sales Manager for Conference Services. From youth soccer camps to banker's graduate programs and everything in between, Conference Services hosts 13,000 people on the UW campus during the 14 weeks of summer. They're busy year-round, booking space for over 200+ conference groups, generating $7 million in revenue. The Sales Manager helps make all that happen by promoting the UW as the place to hold a summer conference and year-round events, working with the client to book meeting spaces, accommodations and meals on campus. You'll need to have experience in sales, as well as a knack for connecting with clients and getting to that negotiated yes.
What You'll Be Doing:
Serving as the point of contact for planners and organizers seeking university conference housing and dining.
Preparing comprehensive and detailed responses to RFPs and bid request proposals.
Managing the HFS Meeting Space Program, including leadership of one full-time employee and several part-time student assistants.
Providing monthly sales activity reports for the General Manager.
Representing Conference Services and HFS at trade shows and conventions.
What you'll need to be considered:

Bachelor's degree, preferably in Hospitality Management, Business or Marketing.
Minimum of two years working in full-time marketing and sales, preferably in a university conference housing environment.
Excellent interpersonal, organizational and communication skills.
Equivalent combinations of education and experience may be considered.

A valid Washington State driver's license
