Associate/Full Professor and Chair of the Division of Biomaterials and Bioengineering (BMBE) at the UCSF School of Dentistry, Department of Preventive and Restorative Dental Sciences
The Department of Preventive and Restorative Dental Sciences (PRDS) in the School of Dentistry of the University of California, San Francisco (UCSF), invites applications to fill a Division Chair position at the Associate/ Full Professor level. This is in the PRDS Division of Biomaterials and Bioengineering (BMBE). Candidates should hold a D.D.S, D.M.D., or equivalent degrees. Additionally a PhD or equivalent is desired. The Candidate should have at minimum 10 years of clinical experience and a practical mastery of the field of dental biomaterials, as well as a strong track record of experience in teaching and training pre-doctoral, doctoral, and postgraduate students. Preferred candidates will also show evidence of research excellence in the form of prior and ongoing independent research funding, preferably in the area of clinical/translational research in biomaterials or bioengineering.
The successful candidate will be responsible for planning and management of the Division and will take a strong leadership role in the administration, patient care, teaching, research, and service missions of the Department, UCSF seeks candidates whose experience, teaching, research, or community service has prepared them to contribute to our commitment to diversity and excellence and share the school’s core value to promote their diversity and inclusion initiatives. Candidates must have at least 5 years of administrative and leadership experience in an academic setting, such as in a section, division or department.
