Nurse Leader - Pediatric Day Hospital and Pediatric Urgent Care Center
The Nurse Leader is responsible for overseeing the delivery of exemplary nursing care in accordance with MSKCC, Magnet®, and regulatory standards. In collaboration with physician and administrative colleagues plan, direct and manage the clinical and operational functions of the Pediatric Day Hospital and Pediatric Urgent Care Center.
Establish and implement all operational aspects of high quality patient care delivery. Provide direction and leadership to nursing staff to ensure optimum patient care, efficient operations, quality service and sound financial management. Actively represent/participate/lead various nursing/departmental projects and organizational committees.
Responsibilities include supervision of Registered Nurses, Clinical Nurse Specialists, Clinical Research Nurses and nursing support staff as well as the management of Human Resource issues, including hiring, transfers, terminations, corrective action, on-boarding, training and development.
NYS license/ registration, BSN, specialty certification, a minimum of 5 years of recent related pediatric oncology experience, and demonstrated leadership skills required. Master’s Degree preferred. Strong information management skills to communicate, explain, interpret, share, and/or present information to employees required. Strong communication skills required including well developed written and oral abilities to give presentations and to chair/participate in meetings.
Hours: Days Monday-Friday (Coverage on weekends/Holidays as necessary.) #LI-TA1
