We have an exciting opportunity to join our team as a Strategic Areas Analyst.
In this role, the successful candidate Obtains and analyze data to support the Strategic Area Operations teams in developing effective service lines. Responsible for providing analytical support and coordination to complete activities related to goal setting, business plan creation, market analysis, revenue enhancement, process improvement efforts, performance measurement, and other initiatives related to Strategic Areas.
- Works under general direction:
Facilitates Strategic Area Improvement - Under guidance from Strategic Area Operations, facilitates system improvement, as required. Works with cross organizational staff and key managers to determine performance standards service expectations and quality indicators. Assists in creating effective data gathering instruments and develops tracking systems to understand and document system processes. Supports key managers in analyzing resource utilization, modifying current practices, establishing new standards, and tracking results.
Assists in designing, developing and implementing performance systems to track performance as well as customer expectations and monitors against targets. Assists management and improvement teams in reviewing and analyzing customer expectation/satisfaction data and translating findings into operating requirements, performance standards and priorities for improvement.
Facilitates Process Improvement Assists Strategic Area Operations in identifying and rectifying system issues. Participates as team member by providing knowledge of system operations and financial input to achieve significant goals in a regulated environment involving patients, families, insurance companies and other payment sources. Assists in conducting process analysis, problem identification and root cause analysis, layout analysis, organization and environmental analysis and formulating recommendations and action plans for improvement.
Participates in group problem solving in developing modified and improved process operations, and in implementing pilot studies and trials of suggested improvements. Assists Strategic Area Leadership in designing programs for improved systems and processes.
Program Implementation - Under guidance of Strategic Area Leadership, assists in designing, analyzing, implementing and evaluating various programs. Works with Hospital Operations team and others to design appropriate programs. Assists team members in data collection and waiting of business plans in approved format for proposed Hospital Operations programs. Works with other operational and financial analytical staff to conduct analyses of various program options, including researching results of other organizations, market impact, financial planning, resource utilization, and others as necessary. Assists Strategic Areas Leadership in implementing and evaluating results of approved recommendations.
- Ad Hoc Reports Provide data and reports on assigned projects as needed; includes development of methodology and work plans, preparation of recommendations and follow up and implementation of approved options. Demonstrates conceptual understanding of project scope; performs necessary analysis, recommends options, designs reports or action plans for selected option, and ensures implementation. Recommendations are well organized, have sufficient documentation, demonstrate sound financial concepts and are appropriate to Health System environment.
- Designs and prepares tables, graphs, spreadsheets, narrative and other design materials to support projects, including use of EPSi and custom reporting features. Demonstrates ability to incorporate externally generated changes into project end keep it up to date. Demonstrates ability to use existing resources, staff, reports, etc. to provide quick evaluations and recommendations on assigned project. Performs necessary follow-up to ensure timely and accurate completion of project.
To qualify you must have a Bachelor degree or equivalent in computer science, accounting, health care or business administration or related field and two years of previous experience in an analytical or computer programming role. Demonstrated knowledge of analytical tools, computer programming languages, software applications and financial concepts required. Familiarity with statistics preferred.
The successful candidate must also possess excellent interpersonal and organizational skills. Knowledge of standard office software is essential, including proficiency with spreadsheet and database software (e.g., Microsoft Office, preferred). Working knowledge of SQL a plus.
Qualified candidates must be able to effectively communicate with all levels of the organization.
