This position coordinates the administrative support services and academic program activities for the Graduate Training Program in Clinical Investigation (GTPCI). The Sr. Academic Program Coordinator has administrative responsibility for complex program elements requiring collaboration across departments and schools within the university.
Duties and Responsibilities:
General Graduate Academic Program Administration
* Assist with admissions process, orientation, academic advising, and tracking progress of students in GTPCI degree programs and SOCI certificate program. * Respond to inquiries about GTPCI degree programs and SOCI certificate program. * Responsible for upkeep of applicant, student, and alumni databases. * Coordinate/administer departmental comprehensive exam through Qualtrics. * Monitor SOCI course registrations and grades. * Track advisor/thesis committee interaction meetings. * Update and maintain both internal and external websites. * Assist with advertising and other tasks for SOCI certificate program. * Order and track supplies for office and course instruction. * Knowledgeable of all departmental policies and procedures. * Other responsibilities as necessary to back up all academic program functions.
Major responsibility for Outcomes and Effectiveness assessments * Responsible for designing reports and conducting queries from the applicant, student, and alumni databases. * Lead follow-up efforts, manage data flow, and collect information for educational assessments and professional outcomes projects, using databases and Qualtrics.
High School Diploma/GED. Five years progressively responsible administrative/academic experience. Additional education may substitute for required experience, to the extent permitted by the JHU equivalency formula.
Strong communication skills, verbal and written. Ability to systematically organize and retrieve large datasets of academic and outcome information. Strong familiarity with database software (esp. Access and Qualtrics) and willingness and aptitude for advanced training. Ability to work comfortably and collaboratively with faculty, students, and other academic officials.
JHU Equivalency Formula: 30 undergraduate degree credits (semester hours) or 18 graduate degree credits may substitute for one year of experience. Additional related experience may substitute for required education on the same basis. For jobs where equivalency is permitted, up to two years of non-related college course work may be applied towards the total minimum education/experience required for the respective job.
