FULL TIME; CAREER Starting Salary Range: $19.50-$21.96/hourly. Salary commensurate with qualifications and experience.

Under supervision of the Facilities Supervisor, incumbent performs various unskilled and semi-skilled building maintenance tasks within the visitor services and maintenance buildings, telescope domes and residential units at Lick Observatory. Additional areas of work include grounds, remotely located pump houses, facilities and hazardous materials maintenance.
Ability to safely operate vehicles ranging from small pick up to large 2-ton flatbed.
Candidate must be comfortable working aloft, and follow all safety procedures and regulations.
Basic knowledge of or ability to learn routine building maintenance tasks including plumbing, electrical, painting, carpentry repair and troubleshooting.
Knowledge of basic electrical theory and safe practices for performing electrical repairs.
Experience and skills in the safe use of various hand and power tools used in building maintenance.
