Position Type : Full Time
The Eukaryotic Pathogen Database resource (EuPathDB.org) is a large, multi-institution project that develops scientific data-mining websites used by researchers worldwide to study selected microbial pathogens, including those responsible for malaria and enteric disease. Leveraging experience with the integration and analysis of pathogen genomics and functional data, we seek to fill new positions, as we expand to support clinical and epidemiological data-mining, by incorporating global projects (such as Mal-ED) that focus on the interplay between early child-hood malnutrition and the enteric infectious disease burden in developing countries.
The Community Outreach Specialist will join a growing team responsible for communicating with diverse audiences, including not only laboratory research scientists & epidemiologists, but also clinicians, field biologists, and policy-makers. The successful applicant will work collaboratively as part of a 30+ member team including biologists, annotators, data-loaders, ontologists, user-inter face specialists, software developers, outreach staff, and others to present our global user base with intuitive and informative web interfaces for accessing and interrogating large-scale datasets. Effective communication skills are required, including the ability to coordinate groups from diverse nationalities and cultural backgrounds.
