PREFERENCES: Physician must be willing to jump into a full practice. Physician who is currently utilizing electronic medical record and EPIC is a plus. Must be able to perform ERCP’s along with PEG tube placement and common GI procedures. Physician must be flexible as often call schedule will interrupt clinic schedule requiring a balancing of office patient needs vs. inpatient needs vs. OR/Endo scheduling time.
GASTROENTEROLOGY PRACTICE: We are recruiting to replace a retiring GI physician. This will be an employed opportunity with Bozeman Health to cover inpatient and outpatient. We currently have 4 employed GI physicians at Bozeman Health. This is pretty straight forward Gastroenterology Medicine. Need the physician to preform ERCP, PEG Tube Placement, Endoscopy, Colonoscopy, Anascope, and Hemorrhoids Treatments. The most common diagnosis are Diarrhea, Benign neoplasm of colon, Diverticulosis of colon, Esophageal Reflux, Flatulence, eructation and gas pain, Epigastric Abdominal pain, Constipation, Diaphragmatic hernia, Internal hemorrhoids, Hemorrhage of rectum and anus, Dysphagia, Chronic hepatitis C.
Currently patient load average per physician for the employed BH GI Clinic Physicians are (Clinic average 70-80 patients monthly, Inpatient average 13-18 monthly, Outpatient patients 50-55 monthly. Average number of patients seen in a day 12-16 depending on-call schedule, scope schedule and emergent add-ons. Average new consults per week 10-12.
OFFICE FACILITY: Clinic is attached to the hospital for easy access. Office hours are Monday thru Thursday 8:00am-5pm, Friday 8:00am-4pm. There are no clinic hours on weekends or evenings. Additional office staff includes 4 RNs, 5 clerical staff members and a clinic Manager. There are 4 physician offices, 6 exam rooms, 1 utility room and 3 nurse stations. Anascopes and hemorrhoid treatments are done in the office.
CALL COVERAGE: Every 5 day/night with the average number of calls 2-3 weekdays, 5-10 weekends.
HOSPITAL FACTS: Endoscopy: Freestanding unit with 2 procedure rooms, 8 admit/recovery rooms, Olympus scopes/equipment. Endoworks Report Writer for dictation. Hospital dictation service also available. Hospital overall: 86 bed facility, 7 ORs, 8 ICU beds, Pulmonary Care/Critical Care and Intenvisit physicians to provide 24-7 coverage ICU, 24-7 hospitalist coverage, 27 new ER beds, 3 ER Triage Beds, 8 bed progressive care unit, Approximately 23,000 ER visits per year.
