Utica College, a small comprehensive college in Upstate New York, is seeking an Associate Director of Admissions – Recruitment & Strategy to manage the undergraduate recruitment and admissions functions of the College. The incumbent will have a special focus in participating in the creation of the recruitment and enrollment strategy for traditional undergraduate students. Reporting to the Associate Director of Admissions may be Admission Counselor(s), Assistant Director(s) of Admission, Senior Assistant Director(s) of Admission, Graduate Assistant(s), Intern(s) and Work-Study students.

Primary responsibilities include:
Provides analyst level support for admissions; Manages and understands data & compiles reports pertinent to recruitment and yield; Manages recruitment staff including; assignment of recruitment territories, monitoring of counselors recruitment effectiveness and providing feedback and adjustments as needed, budget oversight for recruitment, delegating projects, and approving expenses, recruitment plans, etc; All while carrying out the recruitment plan for this team; Develops admissions recruitment team through professional development and guiding the team in a positive direction; Directs and provides effective and superior customer service to students, families and school counselor; Represents the College at college fairs, high school visits, and other recruitment and yield events; Assists with the development of the comprehensive student recruitment plan and strategy; Evaluates applicants for admission; Takes an active role in the development of the department’s strategic and operational plans as required by department leadership; Works closely with department supervisor to develop and implement operational goals that support departmental success; Responsible for working with supervisor and other team members to achieve successful results on all established individual and departmental goals and key performance indicators; Supervises Admission Counselor(s), Assistant Director(s) of Admission, Senior Assistant Director(s) of Admission, Graduate Assistant(s), Intern(s) and Work-Study students.
Bachelor’s Degree required. Master’s Degree preferred; 5 to 7 years of experience in college admissions or student services with management/leadership experience required; Experience with databases in higher education and emerging technologies; Experience with analyzing data; Strong knowledge about and a proven track record of recruiting students; Must possess excellent interpersonal and communication skills to deal with various constituencies (written and oral); Ability to make creative, data-driven decisions; Must have ability to be confidential; Must have leadership abilities including coaching, motivation and conflict resolution skills; Proficiency with CRM’s or other related products pertaining to the recruitment, admission and enrollment of students; Working knowledge of Ellucian Banner preferred; Ability to work evenings, weekends as required; Must be able to work flexible hours if necessary.
