Programmer/Analyst II - Band E
CLASSE OPERATES WORLD CLASS FACILITIES AND CARRIES OUT RESEARCH DRIVEN BY CORNELL FACULTY IN THE FIELDS OF BEAM PHYSICS, PHOTON SCIENCE, PARTICLE AND ASTROPHYSICS IN ORDER TO EXPAND SCIENTIFIC KNOWLEDGE, EDUCATE STUDENTS AND INSPIRE THE PUBLIC.
Design, develop, and maintain databases, software applications, and user interfaces for business/accounting workflows, resource tracking, and monitoring of central computing resources within CLASSE. Act as a member of the CLASSE-IT group, providing programming and database support, and sharing responsibility for CLASSE user support.
Bachelor's degree in computer science, physical sciences, or engineering, with a thorough knowledge of a variety of computer operating systems. One to two years of experience with real-world programming in one or more of the following languages: Java, Perl, Python, SQL, C/C++, or shell scripting. Interpersonal and communication skills sufficient to collaborate with CLASSE staff and the CLASSE-IT team. Excellent organizational skills and ability to manage multiple projects on tight deadlines. Attention to detail is essential. Capable of adapting to the changing needs of a research environment. Able to receive directions and to communicate effectively across all research groups in the department. Work effectively and cooperatively within a team environment.
Prefer more than two years of experience in applicable field.
