Recruitment of study participants for be STURDY Study, a clinical trial of vitamin D supplements to prevent falls in older persons 70 yrs and older. Utilizes solid foundation in basic recruitment strategies and experience with recruitment and retention in research studies. Capable of exercising independent judgment while engaging with potential study participants over the phone and in person. Work closely with Study Coordinator and Assistant Director of Clinical Operation at Johns Hopkins ProHealth Research Center located in Woodlawn. Work as part of a productive, collaborative research team. Our team has been dedicated to conducting high-quality research studies for over twenty five years.
Duties and Responsibilities:
Utilizing a prepared script, conducts interviews by phone or in person with potential study participants.
High School Diploma/GED. Some college courses preferred. Some related experience. Additional education may substitute for required experience, to the extent permitted by the JHU equivalency formula.
Must be highly organized with meticulous attention to detail.
Ability to work in MS Excel, MS Access, and MS Word required. Ability to work independently from home or at Woodlawn. Follows routine protocols under some supervision. Maintain and organize study files. Maintain confidential records of study files. Effectively, prioritize and work on multiple tasks with concurrent deadlines and demonstrate excellent time management skills and efficiency. Participate in team meetings. Knowledge of working with diverse populations especially the elderly. Knows the informal policies, procedures and practices necessary to conduct successful recruitment of study participants. Engages in regular and continuous decision making having an impact on recruitment of study participants.
JHU Equivalency Formula: 30 undergraduate degree credits (semester hours) or 18 graduate degree credits may substitute for one year of experience. Additional related experience may substitute for required education on the same basis. For jobs where equivalency is permitted, up to two years of non-related college course work may be applied towards the total minimum education/experience required for the respective job.
