We are currently seeking a Clinical Lab Technician for our Cell Immunology Lab in New York City.
* Passionate about lab medicine's impact in cancer diagnosis and treatment * Meticulous in your attention to detail * Able to demonstrates a working knowledge of the capabilities, goals, and vision of the lab medicine department * a good communicator * flexible as Days / Hours vary
* Accession patient specimens, including reviewing appropriateness of requests, accessioning, clarifying missing/unclear information, and finding previous history and relevant data in multiple computer systems. * Perform pre-analytical steps related to the initial processing of specimens, including labeling, aliquoting, cell counting, diluting, centrifuging, and preparing reagents. * Transport specimens between labs. * Perform standard laboratory procedures which require limited exercise of independent judgment and interpretation. * Work under direct supervision of clinical laboratory technologist, laboratory supervisor or manager of a clinical laboratory.
* An Associate degree (or higher) from a certified clinical laboratory technician program registered by the NYSED.gov as licensure qualifying (or a program in certified clinical laboratory technician or a related title that is determined by the NYSED.gov to be the substantial equivalent of a registered program in certified clinical laboratory technician). * 1-2 years of experience in a clinical laboratory setting strongly preferred * New York State Certified Clinical Laboratory Technician
