Manages a team of accountants in the preparation of financial statements and in the analysis and
reconciliation of the general ledger for the CHI Colorado foundation and its various components.
Responsible for all financial reporting related to the CHIC foundation to leadership across the system.
Reconciles and analytically reviews the balance sheet and income statement accounts. Responsible for
the oversight of monthly tasks such as reconciliations, management reporting and month end journal
entries. Will establish, modify, document, and coordinate implementation of audit and accounting
control procedures. Oversees accounting functions and works collaboratively with the Controller, VP
Finance, and finance staff across the system to assure a high level of customer satisfaction and fiscal
Minimum Education Requirements
Bachelor's Degree in Accounting, Finance, or related field
CPA or Master's Degree preferred
Minimum Experience Requirements
4 years of experience in accounting or related field
2 years preferably with a health care system
Position Duties (essential functions denoted with an * )
Responsible for non-profit foundation accounting & financial reporting, including reporting to the
various hospital foundations. *
Accountable for appropriate transactions that reflect the activity of the organization. *
Responsible to ensure all financial transactions are in compliance with organizational and
regulatory guidelines. Compile month end Lawson reports, file journal entries and maintain
journal entry checklists. *
Manages all activities of the group to meet deadlines for recording financial transactions.
Oversees preparation for balance sheet reviews. Leads the accounting staff with month end close
process to meet month end close deadlines. *
Reviews all financial activity to ensure transactions are properly stated. *
Accountable for the preparation of balance sheet reviews. Prepare journal entries, post, analytical
review of balance sheet and income statement and follow up on reconciling items. *
Collaborates to manage all annual audit procedures, collect information for financial statement
audit and respond to auditor questions. *
Experience in non-profit foundation accounting preferred
Prefer experience with foundation accounting & financial reporting issues (ie, familiarity with tax exempt
foundation accounting & terminology)
Must be proficient in the use of accounting software and Microsoft office applications (ie, Excel, Word,
