The Technology Department at Foote fills a dual role, providing both academic and technical support to the school. Foote has 120 adult and 485 student users requiring varied levels of support across multiple academic disciplines and administrative departments.
The Foote School Technology Teacher works directly with students to support the use of appropriate educational technology tools. The position reports to the Director of Technology and the Head of Lower School.
The successful candidate will be a team player and a nurturing, flexible person who understands the developmental and cognitive needs of children. The candidate will have proven experience as a creative thinker and innovator in educational technology. The ability to communicate effectively with students, parents and peers as well as employ a variety of instructional techniques to engage young learners is essential.

Work with teachers in grades Kindergarten through six to research, recommend, and implement new technologies into the curriculum and to support them in and out of the classroom with:
- 21st Century Thinking ?Skills
Demonstrate and share knowledge of current trends in educational technology; implement technology integration plan into the Foote curriculum
Understand, support and integrate multiple operating systems and the use of various technology tools, including:
- Google Apps for Education
- Apple Laptops
- Smart Boards
Teach technology classes in the lab (grades 3-6) and within the classroom (grades K-2 )
Develop and teach STEM program for lower school students using the following tools:
- Lego Mindstorms
Demonstrate an understanding of Maker Spaces and an ability to facilitate their use within the Foote School program
Collaborate closely with the technology department
A Bachelor’s degree is required; Master’s degree and/or advanced coursework in educational technology is preferred. Three years teaching experience is required.
