Posting Summary: This position will be the technical lead and supervisor of the Microsoft Applications Team. The incumbent will manage the support of on premises and cloud Microsoft services, including Office 365 and Azure. Primary responsibilities include supervision of staff, planning for continuous process improvement, iterative development of new technologies, and day to day management of service operations for existing service portfolio. The position will work directly with end users and staff, as well as other technical professionals across ITS and UVA.
Required Minimum Level of Education: *Degree or Equivalent Experience Required
Required Specific Degree/Training: Bachelor's degree or equivalent experience in Computer Science, MIS, Computer Engineering or related disciplines, plus a minimum of four years of Microsoft engineering experience or a combination of relevant education, experience and training.

Required Minimum Level of Experience: Considerable - 4 to 7 years
Required Specific Experience: Prior experience managing Microsoft services including incident and problem management, access and entitlement provisioning, IT operations monitoring, configuration and patch management etc. Demonstrated high level technical expertise planning service development, diagnosing and troubleshooting outages and leading continuous service improvement development.
Preferred Minimum Level of Experience: Extensive - 7 years plus
Preferred Specific Experience: Experience managing Microsoft cloud solutions, including Office 365 and Azure.
Preferred License or Certification: MCP, MCSE, MCSD, ITIL Foundations
Required Knowledge, Skills and Abilities: Polished customer relationship skills and strong customer focus. Ability to tailor communication style to team, stakeholder and customer needs. Functional savvy to translate high level business requirements into robust and supportable technical solutions. In-depth knowledge of, and experience with, Microsoft technology solutions and services.
Preferred Knowledge, Skills and Abilities: Knowledge of the DevOps approach to system administration, server management and automation.
Required Computer Applications: Extensive knowledge of, and experience with Microsoft Server solutions, most notably Active Directory, Exchange and System Center.
