University Advancement has an outstanding opportunity for a Video Producer.This individual will be responsible for creating video content to support the University brand and help tell UW stories in a compelling and interesting fashion. Examples include how-to videos for implementing brand assets, as well as short form web videos that bring brand-defining stories of the University to life. In addition, the Video Producer will create topical video content for the UW's social properties, as needed.
Duties and Responsibilities:
Identify the percent time spent on each major duty, listed in decreasing order of importance. The total job duties must equal 100% regardless of position's % FTE.
The videographer will be responsible for all aspects of video production, which includes directing, cinematography, storyboarding, and other roles in the film production process.
Produce, create, and edit video for use in a variety of contexts (E- communications, social media,
Produce original video/multimedia content to increase engagement and enhance the look and feel of the UW's social media properties.
Collaborate and consult with Marketing team members and others in the execution of video projects relating to the goals and priorities of University Marketing and Communications.
Work with Visual Media assets
-Manage, contribute to, and update visual media assets including the Marketing photo database, UW YouTube channel, etc.
-Make recommendations on ways to leverage visual media to enhance the UW's brand image and increase brand awareness.
-Assist the Interactive Art Director in planning for and executing media campaigns and digital brand initiatives.
-Write and edit copy to accompany visual media (e.g., captioning, tagging, and metadata).
Maintain a strong understanding of the brand and mission of the University of Washington. Assist the Interactive Art Director and the Senior Director for Brand and Creative in reinforcing brand standards across campus.
Other duties as assigned.

Bachelor's degree and at least two years of video production experience. Equivalent combination of education and experience from which comparable knowledge and skills have been acquired may substitute for degree.
Proven experience in video/multimedia production and best practices, including proficiency with video production/editing software and applications.
Strong knowledge of web-based video production and short-form storytelling.
Ability to manage multiple projects at once and work under tight deadlines.
Must be able to work successfully in a team environment as well as independently.
Online portfolio of video work is required.

| The Marketing and Communications team supports campus-wide marketing efforts. Work flows through in seasonal cycles. Occasionally the volume of activities will swell to a point requiring more than 40 hours of work per week to maintain deadlines. |
