To support our faculty, staff, and student worker community, the UW is creating an Integrated Service Center (ISC) as a multi-channel resource (website, phone help desk, and walk-in center) for HR and Payroll inquiries and transactions. The ISC is the mission-critical portal to achieve the goals of the HR/Payroll Modernization Program, the largest single administrative initiative ever undertaken by the University. The ISC will not only support the transition to a new HR/Payroll technology, but will also play a role in facilitating new business processes across campus.

The University of Washington's Integrated Service Center has an outstanding opportunity for a Payroll and Financial Reporting Analyst to play a key role in providing unified human resources and payroll customer support to employees throughout the institution.
This position will play a critical role in analyzing payroll financial data and reporting metrics, leading development of payroll financial reports, supporting successful execution of payroll processes as required, assessing process improvement opportunities and coordinating with a combination of HCM, Benefits, and Payroll resources within the ISC and advanced domain experts external to the ISC to address escalated inquiries and issues. In order to be successful, the incumbent will need to possess in-depth payroll, tax, accounting and financial reporting expertise. This role will encompass cognizance of relevant compliance/regulatory standards and associated audit/control reporting.
Payroll/Financial Analysis and Reporting
Analyzes payroll financial data and reporting metrics
Leads development of payroll financial reports
Coordinates with ISC leadership and stakeholders to interpret payroll financial data, identify issues and implement resolution plans
Ensures completion of assigned payroll transactions in accordance with established standards
Transactional Payroll Processes
Supports successful execution of payroll processes as required, including tax filings and related reporting
Analyzes and identifies process improvement opportunities to streamline workflow and deliver enhanced customer service to the organization
Supports timely resolution of complex issues/inquiries
Coordinates with other ISC resources to address escalated inquiries as required
Contributes to an outstanding customer-service environment, including strong collaboration with other team and subject matter experts external to the ISC as required
Applies tact and diplomacy when dealing with customers
Utilizes ServiceNow to facilitate management of inquiries/issues in accordance with established protocols
ISC Services Support
Supports periodic Workday update processes, including Payroll testing activities
Supports ISC knowledge management processes, including identification and verification of additions/changes to the working repository of knowledge content
Supports ISC training activities, including development and verification of relevant content
Bachelor's Degree in Accounting, Finance, Payroll, Business Administration or related field, with a minimum of four to five years of applicable experience
Experience working in a finance or payroll related role, including working knowledge of payroll financial reporting concepts, accounting standards and taxation requirements
Working experience processing transactions in the payroll domain
Working knowledge of payroll data analysis, metrics and financial reporting
Working knowledge of payroll accounting standards and principles
Working knowledge of federal/state regulations and laws as they relate to payroll, including tax withholdings, tax treaties, external reporting requirements, etc.
Experience establishing and maintaining collaborative relationships with key stakeholders
Extensive experience interacting with customers, including resolution of complex inquiries and efficient performance during high-volume timeframes
Experience supporting system testing and/or data validation activities
Equivalent education/experience will substitute for all minimum qualifications except when there are legal requirements, such as a license/certification/registration. Master's degree in Accounting, Finance, Business Administration or related field
Professional Certification (CFA, CPP, etc.)
