Duties of a TH Medical Physicist in the Radiology Oncology Department may include the following but are not limited to:
Brief Description of Duties:
· Calibration and Maintenance of Radiation Oncology Equipment
· Perform Machine Acceptance test and Commissioning
· Quality Assurance of Treatment Equipment and Instrumentation
· Patient Treatment Planning
· Brachytherapy Procedures
· Development and implementation of new Radiation Therapy Procedures, Techniques and instrumentation
· Education Activities
Required Qualifications: CAMPEP approved M.S. Degree in Medical Physics; minimum two years' of experience as a clinical medical physicist in radiation oncology department; must have passed part 1 of ABR (American Board of Radiology). Excellent oral and written communication skills.
Preferred Qualifications: Ph.D. in Medical Physics or related fields. Passed part 2 of ABR with New York State License. Experience with Varian TrueBeam. Has research background in SBRT and IGRT.
