| JOB SUMMARY |
The MedSurg Negotiator is an integral part of the Cooperative's efforts to incorporate all supplies and/or services into the self-contracting model. Key responsibilities include working with members and vendors to target supply contracts, pursue regional standardization, create a competitive environment, and work with the membership to maximize our purchasing power through an established negotiation and contracting process.
Contracting – Uses clinically acceptable products to engage vendors in contracting process, includes but not limited to Committed, Limited, Price lists, Pricing Agreements and the occasional use of our secondary National GPO.
Value Function – Pursue contract value within scope of assigned categories through standardization, consolidation and utilization (SCU). Demonstrate the Ability to lead assigned team(s) to execute full value of contract(s)
Negotiation – Armed with current usage and marketing info, past performance, and spirit of cooperation between CSF and members, pursues creation of competitive environment designed to create value for members, CSF, and LeeSar.
Communication – Establishes and maintains lines of communication with all parties involved, including but not limited to members, CSF, LeeSar, and vendors. Achieved through individual and committee based communications via telecommunications, emails, onsite member visits, and/or vendor site visits.
Data Visibility – Utilizes DIVER, @Task, IMS, and other third-party applications, i.e. MedAssets to target opportunities and engage Service Line clients through usage analysis, including bridging Pricing Agreement to Limited to Sole Source Committed contracts whenever possible.
Documentation – Documents and submits individual contributions that reflect all tangible value. This includes but is not limited to validated savings, PD’s, cost avoidance, etc.
Transition – Secures Member LOC where required and articulates awarded vendors roles and responsibilities in r/t transition activities that yield CSF, LeeSar and Member satisfaction.
Pricing Issues – Negotiator conducts pricing handoffs to CP BUYERS, and intervenes on behalf of members to assist in resolving pricing issues/discrepancies when appropriate.
Value Opportunities – The negotiator proactively seeks, evaluates and presents any potential business opportunities that may bring value to members, LeeSar, and/or CSF.
