The Wyss Institute for Biologically Inspired Engineering at Harvard University seeks a talented and enthusiastic individual to join our growing community as a Business Systems Coordinator. Reporting to the Administrative Director, the Business Systems Coordinator will be responsible for:
Maintaining and expanding VBA solutions for the Wyss sponsored and finance teams for Excel, Access and Sharepoint. The needs include a biweekly salary transfer tool, dynamic budget templates, scientific platform effort analysis, and financial fund summaries.
Writing SQL code and interacting with SQL servers for ad hoc reporting.
Assist the Sponsored Research team by providing technical support to expand grant-tracking capabilities
Support the Sponsored Research team by using VBA tools/Excel to filter data and create reports on grants submission statistics, perform general analysis on grant submission data, ensure data integrity by checking and verifying data entered by the Sponsored Research team, assist in updating fund summaries and displaying compiled information in a useful manner, create custom, detailed budget forms to meet the requirements of grants with specific budget requests, and aid in the assembly and formatting of large grant submissions.
Develop SharePoint expertise and assist in the evaluation of the applicability of this technology platform to create applications for the processes described above and other such projects and the Institute requires.
Assist, as needed, in the enhancement of the Wyss's Indirect Cost rate modeling tool.
Excel work will include responsibility for Excel data connections and Powerpivot.
Graphing in either matlab or Excel.
