The School of Architecture seeks a Manager to oversee digital and manual fabrication facilities for the School. This position is needed to address student, faculty and administrative concerns about access to technology and digital fabrication services vital to curricular goals. Working with faculty, staff colleagues, and administration, the fabrication manager will manage all aspects of digital and manual fabrication facilities in Syracuse and consult on facilities under development in NYC, and will supervise personnel responsible for digital and manual fabrication. In consultation with the Dean, Architecture program chairs and program directors off campus, the manager will develop training for all students, and establish procedures for use of all facilities, grounded in the academic and curricular needs of the School. Working with the fabrication technician, the workshop manager will monitor the budget and recommend expenditures. Create policies for training of student workers, to be implemented by fabrication technician(s). Opportunities exist to collaborate with faculty in teaching and in support of student and faculty research.
