As an Engineering Specialist, you will:
Provide engineering electronics services in the maintenance, calibration, operation, safety and design of biomedical equipment, including clinical or radiological imaging apparatus, or electronic and electro-mechanical systems.
Test, evaluate, and install new equipment systems.
Communicate knowledge of biomedical equipment technologies to staff and coworkers to improve equipment operation and services.
Implement suggestions for modification and changes to equipment or systems in conjunction with manufacturer’s input and needs of medical staff to enhance the performance, reliability, functionality and safety.
Document and record information on equipment service/repair in a computer database; generate reports as requested by supervisor. Maintain documentation for equipment/systems.
A Bachelor’s degree in Biomedical Engineering, Computer Science, or related field plus 4-7 years of relevant experience OR a Master’s degree plus 2-4 years of relevant experience (preferred).
Clinical Engineering Certification preferred.
Analog, digital and microprocessor electronics design/control experience.
Relational Database design experience. Knowledge and experience with a wide variety of test instrumentation.
Capability of interpreting diagrams, prints, drawings and manufacture technical manuals.
Principles of particle accelerators with knowledge necessary to accomplish on-site repairs
