Supports Carilion's hallmarks of service excellence and quality for all job responsibilities. Coordinates inventory processes between all CRMH pharmacies (CRCH-main, CADS, CAC, OR, and Cardiac) and other organization facilities and sites. Responsible for determining appropriate allocation of inventory, addresses shortage issues including communication as well as acquisitions. Works with Director of Pharmacy Contracting to access best pricing opportunities and adherence to GPO contract compliance. Works with pharmacy drug master committee and formulary pharmacist to standardize organization purchasing and savings opportunities. Maintains the bedside barcoding cross reference files. Works with distributor, manufacturers and sales representatives to insure product availability and accurate pricing.
Minimum Qualifications Required
Education: Bachelors degree preferred, but not required. High school diploma or equivalent required.
Experience: At least five years of pharmacy experience required with one or more years of inventory control experience preferred.
Licensure, certification, and/or registration: Virginia State Board of Pharmacy registration required. Pharmacy Technician Certification Board (PTCB) certification is required within 9mos of hire.
Other Minimum Qualifications: Must be familiar with a large number of medications
including strength, dosage, forms and uses. Excellent communication skills. Computerization skills with emphasis on Microsoft Office especially Excel and Access need a clear working knowledge. Excellent mathematical skills necessary. Detail oriented. Must be able to multi-task. Able to act independently with minimum supervision. Must complete orientation competency. Solid team member within the organization, at specific sites, and interdepartmentally.
