Job Posting: Cedars Sinai Medical Center - Department of Short Stay Medical Observation Unit has a position available for a Clinical Nurse III. Since the new 23-bed Observation unit opened as a pilot program in March 2014, it has been an extraordinary success story. The unit has served both Observation patients and those being triage into the unit from the Emergency Department. The unit expanded house-wide in July and currently we have room for future growth as patient volume increases. This is the ideal clinical environment for an RN who wants to use their experience to help improve processes while serving as a patient advocate. Positions available on day shifts, 12hrs shifts. Clinical Nurse III assumes responsibility and accountability for the nursing process and the delivery of patient care. The Clinical Nurse III consistently demonstrates professional skills and abilities, utilizes his/her knowledge base and proficient skills to direct and supervise the clinical performance of others in the role of collegial consultant and resource person. Demonstrates motivation and creativity and serves as a catalyst for effective changes within the Nursing at the unit, service line, and institutional levels. Applies clinical knowledge regarding standard pattern of care to consolidate interventions for time and cost savings. Assumes responsibility for patient advocacy, patient rights and meeting customer's expectation. All External hires must successfully pass background check, drug screen, and pre-employment physical. Qualification Requirements/Preferences: Education Certifications/Licensure Experience Physical Abilities License/Certification/Registration Requirements: Current and active California Registered Nurse License, American Heart Association (AHA) ACLS, BLS, Specialty certification preferred. Telemetry training required. Educational Requirements BSN preferred. Graduate from an accredited nursing program. Specialty Certification preferred Experience: At least 3 years acute RN Telemetry experience. Specialty certification preferred. Five (5) years or more recent acute care RN experience to include 3yrs Telemetry or ICU/PCU RN experience. Experience with computerized documentation systems is a must!
