Job Posting: Summary of Essential Job Duties: The Clinical Nurse III under the direction of the Service Line Manager performs a variety of direct patient care activities or tasks specific to the unit/needs of the patient population. He/she maintains competency skills including ability to provide care to special patient populations and patients with diverse cultural backgrounds. He/she can identify the ability of adolescent, adult and geriatric patient to follow directions/instructions. He/she can identify safety concerns in the age related population and institutes additional measures to provide a safe environment and identify development milestones in the age-related population. Essential Job Duties:
Provides and documents direct and indirect patient care services that ensures the safety, comfort, personal hygiene, and protection of patients. Provides care and patient education on disease prevention and restorative measures.
Provides direct and indirect patient care services, including, but not limited to the administration of medications and therapeutic agents necessary to implement the treatment, disease prevention or rehabilitative plan of care.
Performs skin tests, immunizations, phlebotomy and the initiation of peripheral venous access.
Observes signs and symptoms of illness, reactions to medications/treatments, general behavior, and/or general physical condition. Assesses signs, symptoms, reactions, behaviors or general appearance to determine normal versus abnormal characteristics. Plans and implements care based on observations. Implements appropriate reporting, referrals and care in accordance with standardized procedures. Initiates emergency procedures when indicated.
Provides care to special patient populations and patients with diverse cultural backgrounds. Identifies patient's readiness for learning and ability to follow directions/instructions and give consent.
Identifies and assesses patient safety concerns with respect to age and developmental considerations. Intervenes to provide a safe environment and evaluates effectiveness of intervention for patients.
Provides exposure follow-up, pre-hire employee health screening, annual health clearance and return to work clearances.
Qualification Requirements/Preferences: Education Certifications/Licensure Experience Physical Abilities Educational Requirements: Bachelor of Science in Nursing(BSN) preferred License/Certification/Registration Requirements: California RN License Basic Life Support(BLS) from American Heart Association Specialty Certification, Ambulatory preferred Experience: Minimum 3 years experience. Physical Demands: (e.g. lifting, standing, walking) Vision Sufficient to work at a computer, hearing sufficient for telephone transactions.
