Cedars-Sinai Medical Center, Anesthesia Pre-Procedure Evaluation Center (APEC) has an opening for a Registered Nurse III. The Registered Nurse III assumes responsibility and accountability for the nursing process and the delivery of patient care. The Registered Nurse III consistently demonstrates professional skills and abilities, utilizes his/her knowledge base and proficient skills to direct and supervise the clinical performance of others in the role of collegial consultant and resource person. Demonstrates motivation and creativity ans serves as a catalyst for effective changes withing the Nursing at the unit service line and institutional levels. Applies clinical knowledge regarding standard pattern of care to consolidate interventions for time and cost savings. Assumes responsibility for patient advocacy, patient rights and meeting customer's expectation. In APEC the Registered Nurse will see patients with complex diagnosis and rotate in 3 roles, patient profiles/history, daily clinic (blood draws & EKG's) and chart review. Each Nurse will see, call or review the charts of 25-35 patients per day and document in CS-Link. Qualification Requirements/Preferences: Education Certifications/Licensure Experience Physical Abilities Education Requirement: BSN preferred License/Certification/Registration Requirements Valid CA RN license, & AHA BCLS, ACLA & PALS certified Experience: Prior experience in pre-anesthia, pre-op, post-op, ICU, Critical Care, OR or Procedural area preferred. Meets specialty specific clinical competencies for assigned clinical nurse level and area. Working knowledge of applicable Standards of Practice. Demonstrates a commitment to customer service and an ability to meet the needs and expectations of patients and health care colleagues. Full command (verbal and written) of the English language. Meets clinical criteria and protocol for Clinical Nurse assigned level. Physical Demands: Frequent standing, walking, sitting, and typing (with or without headsets)
Pushing and pulling of wheelchairs, recliners and gurneys
Frequent bending, stretching and twisting to assist patient from/to recliners, wheelchairs
Responsiveness to auditory alarms and communication devices, including telephones, beepers, fire alarms, MARTTI, Vital signs monitors, EKG machine and other mechanical equipment sounds.
Sufficient strength and mobility to access equipment, assist patient and other customers.
Able to perform repetitive motion of upper extremities
Must be able to perform various sensory requirements such as: vision, speech, smell, touch, manual dexterity, fine motor skills, and hearing in order to successfully perform duties of this position
Must be able to exert 20-50 lbs. of force occasionally, and/or 10-25 lbs. of force frequently, and/or greater than negligible up to 10 lbs. of force constantly to move objects or patients.
