LGBTQA Center Director Ad
Join a vibrant campus community and active LGBTQA student center. The University of Vermont is seeking a Director for the Lesbian, Gay, Bisexual, Transgender, Questioning and Ally (LGBTQA) Center. Responsibilities include providing leadership for all aspects of the LGBTQA Center, including programming, budgeting, strategic planning, grant writing, supervision of staff and other activities in the overall running of the Center. In addition, this person would also provide leadership in assisting the University in meeting the needs of students, faculty, staff and alumni who identify as lesbian, gay, bisexual, transgender and/or questioning and their allies. The Director serves as a liaison between the University and community organizations, working with relevant groups and individuals on promoting an equitable and culturally pluralistic environment. Preference will be given to candidates who have administrative experience in higher education and demonstrated experience across the spectrum of gender and sexual orientation identities. Master's degree in a related field and minimum three years of professional experience in administration, planning, program development, budget development and management, staff supervision, social justice, and advocacy, and policy making within organizations required. Effective written and oral communication skills required. Ability to deal effectively with a wide range of University personnel, students and the public. Demonstrated success working with a range of culturally and ethnically diverse populations and evidence of commitment to fostering a culturally diverse collaborative environment that values justice and equity. Evidence of strong organizational and oral/written communication skills. Experience working with a diverse range of college students and/or young adults as well as the public preferred.
