Posting Summary: The Office of the University Registrar (UREG) is seeking a qualified individual to fill the position of Academic Records Specialist. The mission of UREG is to ensure the accuracy, integrity, and security of the academic records of the University. We provide academic record services to students, faculty, staff, alumni, and other constituents in support of the purpose and goals of the University, through proactive outreach and communication. Academic Records Specialists review, analyze, and process information related to students' academic records within the Office of the University Registrar, following established guidelines and policies with the discretion to make independent determinations where appropriate. They interact with members of the University community to respond to questions and offer direction regarding academic records. Academic Records Specialists are able to operate independently with some limited decision-making authority. They provide official academic credentialing for all University students and former students.
Academic Records Specialists have to navigate within UREG's core areas to gain knowledge of operations, customer service and technical support in order to represent UREG in its outreach efforts through the development and fostering of relationships with UREG's customers, departments, schools, and regional centers. This position has direct interaction with faculty, schools, and department contacts. As a member of the UREG academic records team, this position will provide primary and backup support for all areas pertaining to student academic records. The person in this position will also serve as Deputy Data Steward for SIS Student Records (SR) security, authorizing various levels of SIS SR access to appropriate school and departmental personnel. This position will also provide support in maintaining the Undergraduate and Graduate RECORDS for the academic community.
Bachelor's Degree or equivalent relevant experience in higher education is required.

Required Specific Experience: Experience working in an office environment with confidential, detailed information is critical.
Preferred Minimum Level of Experience: Considerable - 4 to 7 years
Preferred Specific Experience: Previous experience with procedures and maintenance for university academic student records. - Experience with the application of FERPA and other relevant academic policies
