This position is in the Department of Neurology. This position is for the Medical School Campus.
This position will provide administrative support for the Hope Center for Neurological Disorders (Hope Center) and the Office of Neuroscience Research (ONR). This includes website maintenance for the Hope Center and ONR to provide comprehensive and timely information; assistance in planning educational opportunities for the Hope Center and Neuroscience communities; communications with Hope Center investigators and the Neuroscience community to gather as well as disseminate information of interest; and administrative support for ONR and HC leadership. The end result is to foster research by Hope Center investigators and the broader Neuroscience community at Washington University by being part of a team that provides information, education, and access to research tools.
PRIMARY DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES:
- Data entry, maintenance: ONR website
- Data entry, maintenance: Hope Center website
- Assistance in coordination: ONR and Hope Center events including conference on Neuroscience and Society, and related workshops/talks under construction
- Administrative support: Communications with WU internal and others (email/phone) to disseminate information of interest to the ONR and Hope Center communities, facilitate communications with Hope Happens (the Hope Center’s not-for-profit partner), respond to inquiries to Hope Center, and provide administrative support such as calendar maintenance, assistance in scheduling events (for leadership meetings, room reservations)
Equivalent of Associate’s degree with 2-4 years experience in administrative support. Experience in university/medical environment.
BS or BA or equivalent; high level of organizational skills; ability to multi-task familiarity with presentation and imaging programs such as powerpoint, Adobe Photoshop or Adobe Illustrator; previous experience/ability re communications
Organizational skills; ease/proficiency re computer skills; thoroughness and attention to detail; ability to work independently; ability to communicate with appropriate level of formality; ability to handle confidential financial information. Following training, will need to review and filter through sources of information in deciding on entries/modification to ONR and HC websites; will need to respond to inquiries from investigators by referring to available information or deciding when inquiries are more appropriately referred to supervisor.
The hiring range for this position is $18.08 - $23.06 per hour.
