The Events Logistics Manager is responsible for managing logistical aspects for "pop-up" events for principal gifts, chancellor's office, and campaign events. The Events Logistics Manager will be responsible for making last minute reservations, find private rooms, send emails/communications, book caterers, hotels, find tickets, etc. The Events Logistics Manager will manage contracts, booking vendors and resources on and off campus, and manage timelines/logistics for large events.
This position requires a flexible schedule. Travel, weekend and night work is required throughout the year.
Education and Experience:
Bachelor’s degree in a discipline related to the area of assignment; or equivalent combination of training and experience. All degrees must be received from appropriately accredited institutions.
This individual must be an accomplished event planner. This individual must be self-motivated, proactive, creative and extremely organized with great attention to detail and able to multitask and prioritize a great number of tasks/projects each day often in a fast-paced environment interacting with a wide range of people. This individual must have excellent customer service, negotiation, interpersonal and communication (both verbal and written) skills. This individual must be able to work relatively independently on many projects. This individual must have the ability to research quickly and find needed locations and vendors. This individual must be adept with budgeting and have the ability to track spending throughout the year. This position demands excellent computer skills, with proficiency in Word, Excel, Access and PowerPoint, administrative skills and willingness to stay on top of the latest upgrades as well as excellent knowledge of appropriate protocol.
A minimum of 3 – 5 years of events experience. Knowledge of the University and its physical campus. Knowledge of food and beverage services.
