Westminster College, a selective liberal arts college located in New Wilmington, Pennsylvania, seeks an enthusiastic and information-literate professional to join Library and Information Services (LIS). The successful candidate will provide support for the College’s Learning Management System (LMS) and will lead faculty and LIS colleagues in an ongoing exploration of the ways technology can enhance teaching and learning.
The Instructional Design/Instructional Technology professional will join an LIS staff that values creativity and collaboration. They will lead outreach and planning efforts to encourage thoughtful integration of the LMS and other technologies in the classroom and across the college. They will also investigate emerging technologies and evaluate their uses, potential, and fit with the College’s education mission. They will provide end-user support and training on existing educational technologies and basic office software to members of the wider campus community, including support staff and administrators. As necessary and as time permits, the candidate will also assist with other LIS projects and initiatives.

A Masters in Education, Library Science, Information Science, or other related field
The ability to teach user populations with a wide range of technological comfort-levels (Faculty, staff, and students)
The desire to work collaboratively with colleagues throughout the institution
Experience using an LMS; a service-oriented approach, and will be proactive and take initiative
Broad familiarity with a variety of devices and platforms
Experience teaching with or administering an LMS (bonus points if the LMS is Desire2Learn)
Proficiency with Adobe creative products (Photoshop, InDesign)
Understanding of outcomes-based assessment practices
This is a 12-month, administrative position. However, if appropriate due to the qualifications and background of the successful candidate, the college will consider appointment as a 10-month, tenure-track appointment (MLS/MLIS or Ed.D./Ph.D. degree required).
