Summary: Maintains library collections of books, serial publications, documents, multimedia, and other materials, and assists groups and individuals in locating and obtaining materials by performing the following duties.

Aligns the library’s mission with the mission and objectives of the school.
Serves on a rotating duty team, which involves working on occasional weekends.
Assists students and staff with research skills and resources.
Collaborates with teachers within units of instruction on the use of resources and tools.
Helps instill a love of creating, learning, reading, writing, sharing, …
Provides equitable access to information and resources.
Advocates for the library and promotes the library as an essential part of the learning community.
Assists students who wish to read and learn for pleasure and academics.
Assists with library technology and digital resources and other library equipment.
Collaborates with teachers as a partner in the instructional process as needed.
Cooperates and networks with other libraries.
Evaluates or provides educational technologies or resources to support learning/teaching, which includes collection development and OPAC.
Develops, maintains, and purchases library resources appropriate to the curriculum, learners, staff, and instruction within the school community.
Fosters a creative, flexible library environment as a part of the learning community.
Has procedures for selection and circulation and deaccession of resources and materials.
Manages budget, expenses, equipment and resources which support the library mission.
May offer special events or promotions or outreach activities
Promotes the ethical use of information such as, copyright, fair use, and licensing of intellectual property.
Provides and helps plan “In Context” informational instruction with the teacher.
Serves on decision making teams or committees.
Stays current in professional development and belongs to national and state library associations.
Serves on the Curriculum Committee.

Fifth year college or university program certificate; or two to four years related experience and/or training; or equivalent combination of education and experience.
