The Executive Director of Human Resources reports to the President and is a member of the Executive Team. This position is responsible for administering, supervising and providing strategic human resources leadership consistent with Cascadia College’s goals and strategic plan. This position collaboratively develops and implements policies, procedures and other functions related to Human Resources. The Executive Director of Human Resources directs, coordinates and supervises the daily operations of Human Resources and Payroll. These duties include responsibilities for recruitment and retention, benefits and compensation, human resources staff, payroll, and professional development. This position shares responsibility with Executive Team members in developing strategies and leading initiatives that embrace and advance workforce pluralism, diversity and inclusion.
The successful applicant will have the following qualifications:
Bachelor’s degree in human resources, organization development, business administration or related field.
Five (5) years in Human Resources or Labor Relations or equivalent combination.
Two (2) years supervisory experience.
A Master’s degree in human resources, organization development, business administration, leadership or related field.
Senior Professional Human Resources (SPHR Certification) or Society for Human Resource Management certification (SHRM CP/SCP).
Experience bargaining in a unionized environment.
Human Resource experience in a higher education or government setting.
Demonstrated commitment to pluralism and the ability to support a diverse and equitable workplace and educational environment.
Working knowledge of HRIS/HMS software systems.
