The General Internal Medicine Division in the Department ofMedicine at the University of Maryland School of Medicine has an opening for a HOSPITALIST (NOCTURNIST). This position will work 14 shifts every 28days. Duties include coverage of theAdvanced Heart Failure (AHF) service with fellow backup and will encompass workup of new admissions and coverage of existing patients, placing central linesand arterial catheters. Cardiologyattendings are also available as needed to assist with diagnosis and treatmentplans. There may be opportunities forteaching of interns and residents on the primary cardiology service if one oftheir patients becomes unstable or if they are uncomfortable/unsuccessfulperforming procedures.
Qualified candidates will be BE/BC in internalmedicine. Although this is a generalInternal Medicine hospitalist position, those interested in applying forCardiology fellowship are encouraged to apply.
