Reporting to the Manager of Education Technology, Teaching and Learning Lab (TLL), and situated within Academic Affairs, the Learning Technologist assists with the discovery, exploration, prototyping, piloting, evaluating, and reporting of emerging and established technologies and platforms. In collaboration with learning designers and media producers, S/he serves as technical expert for supported platforms via deep understanding of affordances and limitations of various configurations and an evolving insight into the learner's experience. The position will also serve as the primary builder of online learning experiences for projects across the TLL portfolio, focusing on achieving uniform design and efficient processes.

Course Development 50%
●Helps develop online courses including demonstrations, videos, simulations and assessments. ●Creates and/or modifies visual design graphics used for course layouts. ●Designs course layouts and pages with focus on usability and ease of use. ●Supports design and development of blended courses and webinars ●Helps develop standards of functionality, effectiveness, and visual design in online courses
Learning Technologies, Innovation and Research 20%
●Assumes a human-centered design approach that focuses on user experience, iterative development, and rigorous assessment. ●Balances competing demands inherent in innovation to facilitate purposeful experimentation and ensure deliverability. ●Assesses and evaluates new technologies; establishing pilot programs as needed ●Maintains knowledge of industry trends and ongoing market developments in innovative online teaching platforms, tools, and environments. ●Champions innovative practices that enable the team to quickly produce, continuously improve, effectively collaborate, and rigorously assess. ●Translates design-based principles into actionable paradigms and support team members in integrating these practices throughout the TLL portfolio.
Accessibility 15% ●Raise accessibility awareness ●Design and develop accessible learning experiences ●Stay abreast of accessibility guidelines and oversight
Documentation and Analytics 15%
●Responsible for developing proposals and functional prototypes. ●Identifies, develops, and assesses documentation and best practices to improve and enhance the work of the team. ●Manages content for TLL website.
This is a 6 month term position with the possibility of renewal based on need and funding

●Bachelor's degree or minimum of two years related experience ●Previous experience with basic HTML programming; quality assurance; and tracking and reporting ●Familiarity with modern learning management systems (Canvas preferred)
●Bachelors degree strongly preferred. ●Experience with learning analytics and evaluation ●Experience working in a higher education environment
