Job Summary The Program Coordinator works closely with the Assistant Director for IICC serving as an advisor to multicultural student organizations, POSSE, and other groups/programs relevant to the diversity and inclusion initiatives of the division. Additional responsibilities include but are not limited to: program development and delivery; the creation and facilitation of trainings surrounding issues of diversity, multicultural competence, and social justice for both students, staff, and faculty; assessment of current programming initiatives; committee work on issues of diversity and inclusion; and administrative operations within the office. Some evening and weekend hours dependent upon IICC areas, DOS, and student organizations' activities and events. The Program Coordinator's duties include but are not limited to the following: Programming Develop and implement training programs for students, faculty, and staff on topics such as: creating inclusive group environments, social justice, and multicultural competence Develop and implement on-going educational and social programs for students on current events relevant to social justice and identity Work on collaborative programing with The Ingram Commons that includes: True Life, Vanderbilt Visions, and VUcept/VUceptor Training Collaborate with DOS Departments to design and carry out multicultural programming Student Advising Develop and lead trainings/retreats for student organizations and their officers Advise multicultural student organizations Assist students with the organization and planning of student organization major events Advise student organization on the development and implementation of organizational goals and missions Assist student organization executive boards in the management/publicity of their organizations and execution of programming initiatives Attend student organization meetings as needed to establish programming calendar for the academic year Support student initiatives with regards to inclusivity and diversity education Inform students of changes to student organizations policies and procedures Utilize budgeting skills to supervise financial management of student accounts and work with Assistant Director on department finances including budget planning Prepare monthly budget reports with center fund balances and transactions for each student organization Serve as a supporter and responder for students during times of crisis Assessment Advise IICC and multicultural student organizations in developing, maintaining, and conducting effective assessment activities Work with DOS Strategic Initiatives and Assessment staff on the creation and implementation of IICC pre-and post-test assessment tools Analyze the impact of assessment as it relates to the overall mission of IICC and its programming Prepare drafts of mid-term and annual reports for final review by the Assistant Director Administrative Supervise graduate student assistant (s) who assist with IICC and multicultural student organizations Serve as IICC representative on DOS and University committees including: Green Dot Committee, DOS Co-Curricular Committee, DOS Business Admin Committee, AcFee Cultural Organizations Committee Create, maintain, and update website content to accurately reflect IICC programs and services Assist with maintaining IICC and multicultural student organization information on Anchor Link Create and maintain social media platforms for IICC in addition to sharing relevant content with multicultural student organizations through social media Other related duties as assigned and as needed to accomplish IICC and work. Minimum Qualifications: Bachelor's degree in relevant field One year relevant experience Preferred Qualifications: Master's degree in higher education administration or relevant field Experience in working with student organizations and collegiate level programming with and for students.
