The internationally recognized Deformity and Scoliosis Service at UCSF announces the opening of a post graduate fellowship position for July 2018. The service performs over 150 complex thoracolumbar and cervical deformity surgeries per year, over 50 3 column osteotomies annually and is a major contributor to the international spine study group (ISSG).
Candidates must have a medical degree; completed a residency program in US or Canada and have committed interest to academic spine surgery.
There will be teaching and mentoring activities that include teaching one-on-one with residents and medical students and participating in weekly rounds and conferences as one of the department’s Spine Fellow. The fellow will attend and contribute to all case conferences, teaching sessions, and journal clubs. They will mentor residents that rotate through UCSF Parnassus. They are anticipated to spend at least 50 hours of teaching during the academic year.
