Utica College, a small comprehensive college in Upstate New York, is seeking a Temporary Studio Support Technician to provide assistance to faculty and students in the Ray Simon Center for Media Convergence Studio, Control Room, Editing Room and Classroom. This includes operating the studio and production area. This position will produce content for college use (classwork, student groups, and other college needs) as well as providing guidance for faculty and students in video production.

Primary responsibilities include:
Working with Faculty to provide full production of video using the equipment in the Studio and Control room; Including camera and microphone setup, recording, and producing; Working with Student groups, such as TV Club, to provide full production of video using the equipment in the Studio and Control room; Including camera and microphone setup, recording, and producing; Working with Faculty to help instruction of full audio / video production; Maintain a professional environment in which students can learn skills and work ethics; Responsible for working with supervisor and other team members to achieve successful results on all established individual and departmental goals and key performance indicators; Other duties as assigned.
An Associate degree is required, Bachelor’s degree preferred; Experience in video / audio production, studio production is required; Familiarity with Mac platforms is required; Advanced video and audio recording and producing skills; Advanced technical skills required, including troubleshooting and problem solving. Good oral and written communication skills and the ability to translate technical information into user-friendly format; Willingness to do hands-on work and maintain effective working relationships with faculty, staff and students is expected; Strong Customer Service skills are required, including the ability to work with customers of various skill levels, from novice to expert, as well as various positions in the college up to President and Board Members. These skills must be strong in all environments, including in person, electronically and over the phone; Must be self-motivated and service-oriented, and be able to work independently and collaboratively in a team environment. Strong problem solving skills and good organizational skills are essential. The responsibilities will include working concurrently on multiple projects and the individual must be able to adjust to continual changes in priorities and respond effectively to emergency situations. Must be able to manage time efficiently with minimal supervision; Must be able to work flexible hours if necessary, including weekend, evening and early morning; Must have a strong commitment to diversity and work continually to enhance diversity of our students, faculty, and staff.
