Director of the Parents Fund (revised) Office of College Relations
The Williams College Development Office is pleased to announce an opening for a Director of the Parents Fund, reporting to the Senior Development Officer for Special Initiatives. This is a full-time (40 hours per week), year-round, regular appointment. The Director seeks to assure the highest level of giving and participation in the Parents Fund to further the mission of Williams College. The Director is responsible for planning, implementing, and assessing strategies directly related to the success and growth of the Parents Fund, and supporting all other College Relations' development efforts and departmental objectives.
The Director must be an astute listener who can maintain strategic, friendly, and effective relationships with all current parents and families. We seek an energetic and enthusiastic professional looking to join a team dedicated to achieving ambitious goals, with a sophisticated understanding of and commitment to the role and mission of a selective private liberal arts college. An appreciation for the devoted nature of our alumni and parent community is also essential. Williams is currently in its largest and most comprehensive fundraising campaign.
Oversees the planning, implementation and evaluation of annual fundraising strategies for the Parents Fund to achieve annually determined goals and objective
Maintains a prospect portfolio of 50-100 families
Collaborates with Director of Athletics Giving to solicit designated annual gifts that credit Parents Fund totals
Collaborates with the Development Communications Manager and the Communications Department to create, budget, and produce all communications for the Parents Fund
Appoints and organizes a Steering Committee to act as advisory Board to the Parents Fund
Supervises recruiting, training, management, and stewardship of 60-100 parent volunteers
Develops programs and strategies to engage and steward Williams families
A bachelor's degree with progressively complex roles in nonprofit or higher education fund-raising
Strong oral and written communication skills
Understands and appreciates the devoted nature of alumni and parent community
Ability to work effectively both independently and as part of a team
Excellent computer skills including Excel
Experience in database management and record keeping
Moderate travel and some evening and weekend responsibilities are required
