Education: Bachelor's Degree inComputer Science, Mathematics, Information Systems, Engineering, DatabaseManagement or related field.
Experience: Five (5) years'experience designing, implementing and supporting systems in a large scaleanalytics or data engineering environment containing many disparate applicationsystems and multiple data sources.
Preferred Education: Master's degree programming, ComputerScience, Statistics, Mathematics, Information Technology, Database Management,or a related discipline preferred.
Knowledge,Skills, and Abilities
- Possessa thorough knowledge of position/industry requirements and able to performposition in compliance with all requirements/regulations/laws. Advanced abilityin computer programming for statistical processes. Ability to establish andexecute data security standards, procedures and disaster recovery plans.Knowledge of data analysis, end user requirements analysis, and businessrequirements analysis to develop a clear understanding of the business needsand to incorporate these needs into technical solutions. Deep knowledge in datamining, machine learning or natural language processing. Expert knowledge ofdata modeling and understanding of different data structures and their benefitsand limitations under particular use cases. Strong knowledge in programming orscripting languages (e.g., C/C++, Python, Ruby). Experience with agile or otherrapid application development methods. Experience with object-oriented design,coding and testing patterns as well as experience in engineering softwareplatforms and large-scale data infrastructures. Knowledge to perform complexdata query and retrieval leveraging API's, relational and non-relational datasources.
- Abilityto maintain high standards with the work being performed and maintain awarenesswith trends and influences. Ability to lead complex database projects. Assumepersonal responsibility for all outcomes; makes effective and timely decisions;and learns how to effectively use technology. Maintain productivity and usesknowledge strategies to increase knowledge base. Able to make independentdecisions that are a matter of significance for the unit. Demonstrated computerand analytic skills to determine methodology alternatives.
- Abilityto effectively communicate both verbal and written thoughts, ideas, and facts.Write and present information in a clear and concise way. Interpret andunderstand written information and is able to listen attentively to verbal andnon-verbal cues that lead to a deeper understanding. Skill in interacting andpresenting to various audiences.
- Abilityto work cooperatively with others and demonstrates professional, ethical,respectful, and courteous behavior when interacting with others. Demonstratepleasant and positive interactions with others to meet customer expectations,and provide follow up with customers. Reaches compromise and consensus toinfluence and negotiate.
