Clinical Research Nurse Practitioner-Thoracic Medical Oncology Practice
We are seeking Clinical Research Nurse Practitioner [NP] for our Thoracic Medical Oncology Practice to join a team of NPs who are dedicated to delivering compassionate, expert and comprehensive cancer care to patients and families.
Collaborate with designated physicians and research team members (consisting of the principle investigators, Research Study Assistants, Data Managers and Nursing Staff) to develop and conduct clinical trials
Participate in the institutional review process, including the in writing/reviewing protocols and consent forms
Screen patients for protocols, participate in the informed consent process and provide education for patients considering enrollment or enrolled on a clinical trial
Clinical responsibilities include monitoring toxicities, assessing clinical responses and providing exemplary patient care while ensuring the protocol is conducted in a high quality manner
Capable of anticipating and balancing the needs to multiple stakeholders
Resourceful, securing and deploying resources effectively and efficiently
An effective communicator
Openly relatable and comfortable with diverse groups of people
Adaptable in approach and demeanor in real time to match the shifting demands of different situations
Qualifications needed for an NP candidate are:
Current New York State (NYS) RN and NP licenses/registrations
Master’s degree in nursing, prescriptive privileges (or eligibility)
3+ years of related clinical experience
Related National NP certification
Hours: 10 hour days flexed Monday through Friday
